Just wondering why you're so specific in your projector model. Have you used the Yelco before? Excellent, solidly built machines they were.

Hi
yes i have used them before - there great machines - i am using them to run the same pice of footage through multiple projectors and these are the only ones that i have found that don't fluctuate and keep frame accurate time because of the crystal quarts mechanisms in them.
they seem to be rather rare and tricky to find - i guess because they are such great machines people don't tend to let them go !

The same piece of footage through multiple projectors - sounds interesting - like on aircraft before the mid 1980s. There are other Super-8 projectors that have accurately quartz clock controlled speeds though - like the Elmo GS1200.

really i wasn't aware that the Elmo GS1200 also had the quarts clock control though - ill look in to them - I'm interested by what you say about the aircraft - was that how they showed film on planes pre 1980's - how amazing do you have any more information about this? how did it work

Re: looking for YELCO DS 810MT
I went to South Africa by plane in 1984 and this 'multiple projector' technique was still in use then. Screens were dotted along the centre line of the aircraft and the 24 fps Super-8 (often optical soundtrack) film was sent from one projector to the next. Depending on where you were sitting you could see one scene on the screen nearest you and then watch it again a couple of minutes later on the next screen down the cabin with out of sync audio - and so on.
The GS1200 has optical replay and magnetic stereo record and replay.

I do have the DS-810MT - recently fitted a new lamp and drive belt. I bought it with a stack of pro films, documentaries and cartoons which we haven't watched yet. But afterwards, maybe ...
