Watching DVDs or downloads on computer.

Post by Dave Watterson »

Do any of you use your computer to watch DVDs - not just to check that they have recorded properly, but to watch for pleasure?

Or come to that do you watch downloaded movies for pleasure - not just a few minutes of YouTube fun?

I ask because a friend has been exploring the world of open-source and similar free software players. If anyone is interested we can pass on some information about them. If not, we will keep these channels open for other topics.

When dvd recorders were really dear, I used to watch films on dvd from my computer with Dolby Digital. The first film I watched was Pearl Harbour. It was fantastic.
I now use the dvd in my computer to burn and check my films. I`m not bothered with downloaded films.

No I don't watch full movies that can go through my film rig with the DTS amp and big screen.

It's more comfortable there too.

I've got a friend who downloads full DVD movies, burns them on discs, then watches on the tv. He's naughty I think. I doubt it's legal, and I don't think it's a paid subscription.
