Greetings from Brisbane Movie Makers Club Australia

Post by Damian »

Hi all,

Greetings from sunny Queensland !

Our club heads into its 89th year in 2026 albeit with a few name changes and mergers along the way.

The trickle of new members does seem to be keeping pace with the exiting or no longer attending meetings membership, but as always could do with a few more. Nowhere near the numbers of 10 years ago.

Was wondering if any club would be interested in sending through a 5 minute film profiling their club, members and their town / area ? Perhaps with a tinge of famous British humour thrown in there 😁

A contingent of around a dozen of us saw the great documentary about the Bradford Movie Makers Club a couple of years back at the Brisbane International Film Festival.

I communicated with a couple of club members and the movie director afterwards for a little while. We could relate !

Not sure how much traffic these forums get but thought I'd say G'day regardless 😉

Hi Damian

It's a bit quiet on here these days - but, as editor of the IAC magazin, FVM, I'll put your shout out in to the next edition. Due out mid January.

Best wishes.
