After much thinking I ventured back in time when I started my hobby and looked at then and now.
Then....We started with cine camera and projector with screen and 1 roll of film from Dixon's for £49.99 in old money. That was the period we all belonged to clubs to learn and show off what we could achieve. I joined the Ealing Boston Manor Cine Club. Me and my wife enjoyed every minute and learned. At one period Alan Crammer was elected chairman and his opening speech has stayed with me. "I may be chairman but if you don't support or take part I will shut the club down"
Now....Over the years video came in and many of us spent money on this fast moving image equipment with the advent of cables for viewing. Today we still have clubs who invite us to join and marvel at this wonderful technology with the same set up as the cine days. But there is a gap? PC and Apple computers and there are clubs who allow us to join the PC and Apple Club.
So over the last few months we have come to realise that we have a crisis on our hands with video clubs. I have let off a load of steam on this forum and believed we could solve the problem. The few strong clubs who make powerful video with the members they have, and have a good relationship with the community they live and give them once a year a video show will attract members of small or those who buy a camcorder and want to share their videos with people.
I now will close this debate on attracting new members. I will browse this forum to seek knowledge and information or answer any questions regards video media on the Apple video software.
