Thick-head here again. Tom* will think I'm mad and probably I am but have been looking at a S/H offer of a Sony DSR 500 with the above lens with a 2X extender. I know the camera has 2/3 inch CCDs so the lens must match those but I haven't been able to find out any more about the lens. Can someone point me to the information or the site with it, please.
* the point would be that I would be able to shoot WS and not have to get any more equipment than I already have.

Peter, the DSR 500WS (for widescreen, natch) is the 16:9 version of the 500.
I'm pretty sure you can shoot in widescreen with the 500, but you'll sacrifice image quality if it simply crops the chips.
