I'm a newbie to your forum and need help with a specific problem.
I'm a photographer first, who does about a dozen videos a year. I use a Casablanca Solitaire.
I've been asked by a dance studio to take over video for their Summmer Recital.
The previous vidographer ( who left with acrimony and won't return my calls) had a drop down menue on his video which listed each performance individually so you didn't have to skip through chapters to find the dance you want to view. Arabesk won't do drop down menues, that I know of.
Can anyone tell me what programs will do drop down menus?
Feel free to email me at wrvideo@hotmail.com
Thanks!

Re: Drop Down DVD Menue
Not sure what you mean by a drop-down menu Wally, but all DVD authoring DVD programs that I know of (apart from the first version of DVDit!) give you the opportunity of having a menu page that appears as soon as you pop the disc into a player, and from this menu you can choose which chapter you want to go to.
DVD Workshop2 allows you up to 99 chapter points per disc and I like it because you can have 5 main chapter points on the menu page with (say) another 20 chapters 'hidden', i.e. accessed by using your remote's next and previous buttons.

I do not use the DVD software that Tom has commented upon but with quite a lot of them when you use chapter points & play the chosen chapter, it then continues on until the end of the disc
With Adobe Encore you can create a timeline for each "dance" and a menu button for each timeline where each dance is on its own timeline.
The basic process is this: -
Creata a new project
Create a menu with two buttons, one labelled play all and the other Dance Menu
Create a second menu named Dance
On The Dance Menu create buttons for each dance you want to include plus one button to return to the main menu
Create one timeline for each dance and place the appropriate Dance movie on the timeline
Link each timeline to the respective Dance Menu button with the end action being to return to either the Main menu or the Dance menu
Link the Main menu return button to the Main menu
On the Main menu create a Playilst and include all the dances in it and link this to the Play all button
Burn the disc
Job done
