Hi folks
A friend is asking if I can recommend a good scanner to convert slides to (presume) jpegs? I can't, but I know a society of people who probably can.
Anyone?
Cheers
Martin

Re: 35mm slide scanners
The Plustek range give very good quality, but they start at around 250 pounds. I have tried a few cheap systems, but the results are usually poor.
It will help if your friend has a good image editing program to adjust colours and crop pictures.

Re: 35mm slide scanners
I agree, the cheepie slide/neg scanners are so so, and best ignored. With a little care and a little light table a smartphone can do a pretty good job, as my Positive Image article on the subject pointed out. Alternatively I know a man who does this work to a very high standard, and funnily enough he wrote that Positive Image article.
