Free Royalty Free Music

Post by Jill Lampert »

Can anyone give me links to sites for FREE Royalty Free music?
It seems to me that they are getting harder and harder to find. There used to be a few I liked, but they have transformed into paying sites.
I tend to use AKM myself - good because you can use it for anything - but you have to pay.
I'm looking for stuff that beginner filmmakers can use for amateur video productions.
Thanks in advance!

These and others can be found on https://www.theiac.org.uk/resourcesnew/ ... oundfx.htm - though it has not been updated for while so check what their websites offer.

I had a listen to this type of music and found the
quality of melody writing to be poor.
The classical composers have that great but rare art of good composition.
I'll stick with my Brahms. :-)

I suspect that is because most of the "free music" is intended as mood music - to create or enhance the atmosphere of a scene - whereas most classical composers were writing for an audience that was focused only on the music.
