Pinnacle 17.3 upgrade to 17.4 - 'snapshots' lost

Pinnacle editor has lost embedded ‘snapshot’ stills after patch upgrade. A user has tried to remove them to clear condition but editor retains reference to ‘missing media’ (blacked-out frames) and insists they must be re-linked. User cannot get past this stage. Pinnacle support have not been of assistance. User has tried other forums without success. Any help would be appreciated!
