Thank you Desmond, that explanation of the history of Aspect Ratios is fascinating and very well explained. Knowing the history of film and how things evolved is I believe important for film makers.
By the way fellow forum followers, I'm now a Vimeo convert, and have put a number of my recent films up there, most of them in full HD. Navigate to my name, then click on videos and you should find them. The navigating process is not as straightforward as I hoped but you can get there eventually.
