YouTube, Vimeo or another video host?

Chrisbitz, I wanted to ask you about your 'You Tube' mention. I was told that Vimeo might be the better site for longer films, also better picture quality. Do you have any views on this? I have a number of short films on You Tube, mind you I can never even find them so goodness knows what the point is! Your strap line is novel and might well help people to view your films.

Thanks for the question, and personally, it's a very easy answer. I make films because I enjoy making films, so equally, the more people that get to see my films the better.
It may be that Vimeo is a teeny bit better quality or it may be that they used to be a few years ago. But the bottom line is that I don't care... YouTube is perfectly good quality for showing my films, and it is the only significant place to show films that works with search engines.
YouTube is the second most influential search engine on the planet. If you wanted to find a video about a particular subject, would you go to YouTube or Vimeo to search for it? That's the crux for me...
What's your Youtube address?

This discussion began on another thread but seems worth exploring separately, so I have copied a couple of posts here to start things off ...

I have an account with Vimeo; it seems to be more oriented to movie makers and has a number of specialist forums. I have just bought a Sony VG20 and found that forum very helpful. They also have royalty free music available at very reasoabl prices.
