Does anyone have a quick fix for this?

I have a 2Gb SD Memory card for a still camera (Sorry it must be the same for a solid state camcorder). The open close tab on the side has dropped off rendering it 'read only'. Annoying as it switched when it went in and out of the computer.
Is there any way of fixing this or is it just ready for the dustbin? Ecological disposal of course!

You mean the little sliding switch has fallen off? Can you push the switch back into the record position with a pin or something directly on the PCB's switch, then simply leave it there?
