Edius and Edius Neo

As you probably have read I use Edius Neo in preference to Premiere CS3 for my AVCHD editing.

I have been using Neo on some DV files and when I had finished encoding it into MPEG2 ready to put onto a DVD I thought that I would try encoding the movie into a HD format.

It upscaled the movie into 1920 x 1080 and the results were pretty good.

Would some of you guys please give it a try and post your results here including any settings you used and I'll incorporate them in the next article I plan to write?

I have more work to do experimenting, also I subscribe to VIMEO and intend to post some more movies there which will include the test coded movies

That's an interesting experiment Col. So you MPEGd SD to make the DVD, then upscalled the SD file to HD so that (presumably) you could make a BD.

So you could start with 1920 x 1080, downscale that to 720 x 576 and make a DVD that could be upscalled in your BD player into your HDTV.

Then as a comparison you could take that 720 x 576 file, upscale it within Edius and burn a BD.

If you play both these discs on your BD player, which one would look the best?
