Keeping you posted on 'Bilbster' nearly two years after it was filmed delayed
by a rash of computer problems, the film has finally reached (don't hold
you breath) the FIRST stage editing. OOOO it seems to connect okay and I
think we don't really need any extra fill shots. Just got a small number
of mattes and animations to put together and film, then it's down to precise
editing.
We've done some sound mixing experiments too and found some great scores
to work with so things are on the move. Woo Hoo!

Good news, even if you do insist we will have to come to Thurso to see it
when it is finally completed! Jan and I have friends in Sutherland so we
just might make it for a show some time.

As for the suggestion that "no fat or ginger haired people should be allowed
into amateur movies" - naturally any right-thinking person would agree. I
qualify on the first ground and might dye my beard too ... I'd do anything
not to be in the movies. What else should be banned? Cabbages? I don't
like them. No films about cabbages.

By the way the Graeme whose thoughtful letter has prompted several responses
is half of the team behind 'Car Park' which has been picking up awards for
the last few months. You can read a bit about it on the main website. He
is associated with a club which is currently most successful in terms of
support. Most of the clubs I hear about are very small groups. It is difficult
to cater for all the different sorts of movie makers we have when there are
only a dozen of you and 9 of those are mainly there for the tea and chat.

How about you other movie makers ... what are you currently working on and
how far has the project got? CforT cannot be the only active one. I gather
Michael Slowe is about to get going again and that Willy Van der Linden has
almost finished his new dramatised documentary about a concentration camp.
No doubt Ken Wilson is up to his ears in weddings at this time of year but
knowing him and Carol I'm sure there are a couple of fiction pieces on the
drawing board too.

My goodness has it grown since we started it only a few months ago and we
are still under half our full photo capacity on the site. Our friends at
Orkney Movie Group are working on something too though I'm not sure what,
no doubt it'll be "one better than the mainland!" "American Dog" is now in
production with our younger members as well.

It is an interesting site - and at last I found out what the story of the
'Bilbster Adventure' is. The stills are slightly puzzling out of context
but seem promising. I do wish more groups would put production news on their
club websites.

Had a burst of inspiration two days ago and haul all the effect through a
new technic which resulted in some cost and resource cutting- always good
news to low budget group. Another page showing a few more effects has been
added to our site. Thanks for the feedback Dave.

Steady on, CFTG, you will have a rush of films about cabbages if you are not
careful!
Lidl do a very nice Coleslaw worthy of a feature of its own!
