Amateur / non-commercial films on the web

We have occasionally mentioned websites with non-commenrcial movies that are
streamed or can be downloaded. I have just visted an Australian one: www.wollongongcc.org.au
This is a small club with a stills group and a video group. Explore the
video section - there's an interesting newsletter and there is also a small
gallery with sequences of stills and videos. I specially like last year's
winner which is a standard report on a trip along a preserved railway line,
but enlivened by presenting it as a battle between "Murphy" and the "Volunteers"
- as each breakdown, line blockage etc is attributed to Murphy but the railway
enthusiasts fight back. It's a great idea and makes this little movie a
gem.
In many ways I take as much delight in a good idea like this, as I do in
movies which are technically better and more detailed in structure. John
Devenish is obviously a man of ideas with a sense of humour.
