Last November Vimeo changed the search function for UK and EU users. From now on people can only discover your films if you have given them a link, and you can't find anyone else's films unless you have a link. As far as I can see this makes Vimeo pretty much worthless, and I expect it will wipe out any EU/UK community that's on there as people abandon it when their subscription renewal date arrives.
Vimeo haven't exactly shouted about this change from the rooftops. I found out about it a few days ago.
You can save the subscription by keeping your films in your own cloud space such as OneDrive and sending link to that. If you want to search Vimeo you can do it via a VPN, telling it you're somewhere in the world where search still works. You don't need a subscription for that.

Re: Vimeo degraded for UK and EU subscribers
It does indeed look to be a foot-shooting operation on Vimeo's part, and I can't for the life of me figure out the advantages that have sold Vimeo on the change. Mind you, I thought the same about Adobe, when they changed from a one-off fee to a subscription service. Who would stay with them? Well the answer is vast hoards of people, so what do I know?
