Hi Team,
Every now and then I fancy playing one of my old LP records, but my latest Onkyo home theater amp doesn't have a moving magnet cartridge input.
So I thought I'd ask you guys for advice. I'm not after anything fancy but the price range for such things is enormous, from about £15 to £1500. At my advanced age I'm not going to be hearing much above 5kHz anyway.
If it helps I have a Shure V15lll in an SME arm.

Re: Pre amp needed to play my LPs
Hi Tom (again!)
I would try this from Behringer as an external RIAA converter. The specs say it can do the job you need and the reviews are favourable, and as with all Behringer gear you get a lot of performance or features for your cash. As there are not too many features to had on this kind of converter, I would expect the performance to far outweigh the price tag. At £16 it's worth a punt, and even comes with a 12V adaptor so you don't need to find one

I'll shut up now and let someone else give some suggestions
