onto a flash drive please.

Just to clarify ... do you mean export the finished film to a flash drive or save the project for further editing, perhaps on another machine?
Usually when you insert a flash-drive your computer sees it and assigns it a letter such as "I:\". Then it can be used just like any other file store, such as your built-in hard disk.
Maybe I am missing the point ...

Sorry I didn't reply sooner but I have had a lot on and the flash card went onto the back burner-as they say.
Yes, I wanted to save the film onto the flash drive. As you say it was quite easy to transfer it to the flash drive, but it wouldn't play on my DVD player, a Panasonic. At the next club meeting, Lichfield MM, I popped the flash drive into the clubs DVD player, also a Panasonic, and there it was.
