The Festival was last friday... and boy what a night! Was a thoroughly enjoyable evening, riddled with a fantastic buzz. Was great to see so much up and coming talent under one roof.

I believe the organiser next year will open the scope wider for more national entries and maybe even international entries.

The write up in the local paper was good too.... Image

Roll on the next one. :)

The Red Carpet Screenings International Film Festival went ahead on Saturday night, with a fantastic collection of films across a large spectrum of genres. It has a great format in that each film maker is interviewed on stage to talk about their film before it's shown, which is different to other festivals i've been to.

Jim and Jamie's film 'Vision' was shown, and from the conversations i had with people, it was really well received. I thought it was great! Very creepy, and had everyone on the edge of their seat.

There were a surprising number of first time film makers on show too, with some work that was pretty darn good for first timers! The film receiving the Best Film award was a short called 'Parked', from a theatre group whom had never made a film before. Quite remarkable.

My latest flick 'Room 4' was shown, and got a really good reception. I was really chuffed with the audience reaction, particulary at the end of the film.

All in all, a very very good festival, packed with some amazingly talented people! I can't wait for the next one! :-)

Something i think is unique to Red Carpet Film Festivals is that all film makers attend and are interviewed on stage before their film is shown. Thought some of you may find this stuff interesting, so here are some links to some of the interviews;

Another brilliant Festival just gone. Some amazing films on show. Well done to James Webber for his new film 'Three' winning an award on the night. The film is really damn good! Well deserved!

Roll on the next festival! :-)

Thank you Geoff! 8 Ball was my favourite of the night - really awesome film. I think it'll do well in BIAFF if you're entering it? Good to speak to you again as well!

PS - If anyone wants to see 'Three' on this forum send me a message and I'll reply with a private link to the film!

Cheers,

Jim
