Your Club's Showreel

Post by Jeremy »

Hi There...

Would any of you that are members of a thriving video club be interested in exchanging your club's latest DVD Showreel with ours? I am soon to take over as Chairman of Staines Cine & Video Society and would like our members to see a wider variety of films produced by other amateur video clubs.

Happy Easter to everyone........ :)

Hello Jeremy,
I am a Belgian, but I have a lot of subtitled documentaries, travelogues and some fiction films. They are in English or subtitled. My young clubmate Samuel Faict has some stories of mystery and imagination without any dialogues. If you wish I can send you some. I have already done this for a club near Manchester and the Preston Movie Makers. I am a honorary member of the PMM.

Are you going to Chesterfield ? Then I can give them to you over there. Your own films can't be shown in my own filmclub unless they are without dialogues. There is still the language-barrier, you know, though more and more English is spoken on the continent.

My former club in the UK, Nuneaton Moviemakers has a series of ‘showreels’ which they exchange with other clubs.
It should not be too difficult for you to track down the Chairman or Secretary!

I don't have one... but am happy to whip something together. :-)

Infact, i was thinking of compiling some of my films onto DVD as a sort of Best of. :)

I could also do you a Showreel of my stuff. I have had seen some of Amps DVD`s and they are excellent. I miss them now! Our club has exchanged Club DVD`s before. They may have contact details on the IAC`s website... or they may be my Details, as I was club sec when I put them up! If they're mine then you can email me and I can email you a contact email address. It`s the long way round of doing it but it is a complicated situation which I don`t want to go into!

Welcome back, Stingman!

After a long absence I see you are popping up all over the place on the forum again. Hurrah!

It would be nice if more of the people who read the forum would put in a word now and then. Sometimes we can seem like just a handful of people. In fact there are 185 members registered and more who pop in as guests just to read.

GETTING THE AMPS WINNERS DVDS

As for the AMPS (American Motion Picture Society) DVDs ... there's a really simply way to get them ... join AMPS. It costs $8 a year if you get their magazine (Movie Makers) by email - in a week or so you will be able to pay that on their website (http://www.ampsvideo.com) using a credit card or PayPal. Or you can pay £6 by post. [If you want the newsletter by regular mail the rates are $20 or £12 a year.]

Cheers

Hi Jeremy

My name is Mark Walsh, I am the program co-ordinator for Walthamstow Amateur Cine & Video Club.
We are looking to have a club DVD exchange next month.
Would you be interested in helping our club out with a dvd of videos please.
Obviously our club would be happy to send you a dvd of some of our productions in return.

I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

Kind regards

Mark Walsh
