Congratulations to all you FIVE STAR high achievers! Great Stuff. Just to make people realise that not everyone got five stars, and that it's OK to get fewer than 5 stars, I'd like to say that I got THREE STARS for my film Feel Good Fire Breathing. I'm delighted with the award and am also chuffed that it's going to be shown at BIAFF - on the Saturday. :D

I can tell you that the results go out in order of merit, that's why all the fives new before the fours. Well done to our 'regulars' with their Fives.

I had two Four Stars for my two docs, which is what I expected, although, we are mostly bad judges of our own films and unreasonably expect better. I've learnt over fifty years to be realistic, having had the joy of three Diamonds (used to be called International), a couple of Fives and one Three, but mostly Fours.

Well done everyone, I've only seen Gill's so far and look forward to seeing the others in Harrogate. Should we not have a Forum Gathering by a bar at some stage of the weekend? I've tried this before and it didn't really work out, particularly as Big Dave is so difficult to pin down. There are about six of us regulars, a visitor returning home from Utah, and maybe a couple of others. If I commit to buying a couple of bottles of Proseco will there be any takers?

Glug, glug! We can try to find a time to meet either in the bar or in the conservatory area by the front door of the hotel. When the timetable is announced we can agree a time.

I understand that the amazing David Newman, who does so much for BIAFF, cannot take any time off work at present. That means he can only send out results when he gets home late in the evening and before he goes out early in the morning. Nevertheless he hopes to send out all the results in the next few days.

I have no special responsibilities at this year's BIAFF, so hope to be more easy to track down ... or to avoid!

Michael. your offer to meet at the bar gratefully accepted. No results for the SW Utah entries so assume we are low on the listings.

Is there parking at the hotel? I have reluctantly had to rent a car again much as I now hate driving in England.

Congrats to the regulars here; well done and looking forward to meeting at Harrogate.

The Cairn Hotel has a large carpark, Ned. Just remember that when you depart, you must drive on the LEFT.

Results received; of the 8 entries from SW Utah there are 3 x 2 stars; 2 x 3 stars and 3 x 4 stars. The three 4 stars are to be screened. Thanks to all involved and a special thanks to David Newman; what an epic task!!

I do need to be regularly reminded which side of the road to drive on!!

Regards to all

OK, having finally decided with Martine that I shall be a party of one this year so I am in the process of organising a ticket so I should be able to join you (unless you meet up on Friday in order to avoid me).
Good to see some more results coming through. The two other members of Staines Video Makers who submitted films each received four stars.

Hopefully all the results will be on the website any day now. Dave Watterson usually gets wind of when this is going to happen... what can you tell us, Dave?

Just because I am married to the webmaster !

They should go up in a day or so. Waiting for the absolute final, thoroughly checked list from David Newman. (How that man manages to do everything amazes me!)

Re the get together at the bar. I'm projecting on the Saturday so will need to keep a clear head but suspect I'll be in need of something restorative afterwards! You will probably find me lying in a darkened room, somewhere very quiet.

As to the results, I didn't enter a personal film this year but both our entries from XDL Films received three stars and are being shown on the Saturday
