Fast Flowing Festivals

Post by Dave Watterson »

In the last couple of weeks I've heard of two river-related festivals.

Please draw this one to the attention of film makers under 20 ...

Four River Film Festival - in Karlovac, Croatia.
Closing date 1st July. Screenings 10-13th September.
Authors (film makers) between 14 and 20 years of age can take part in the festival. Films up to 30 minutes - as many entries as you like. No fee. Check them out on the Croatian Film Clubs website (in English) - http://www.hfs.hr/hfs/festival_563_e_home.asp - the promo video will win your heart!

The other is open to any age ...
“Danube – the river of Europe” in Rousse, Bulgaria.
Closing date30th April. Screenings 24th to the 28th June 2009. No entry fee.
"Theme: SENSE OF A RIVER. Humans have five senses – we see, hear, feel, taste, smell. There is one more very important sense – the sixth sense, which is often doubted. It is called intuition.
While watching a movie we can see and hear. But can we smell the scent of the flowers on the river bank or taste the fish? Or do we sense the gentle touch of the waves? In that way you can feel the river even in the desert. It’s just a matter of your creativity – try it!"
This year I'm on the jury ... so ...

Details of both will be on the main website soon.
