Computer speakers for voices on zoom

My present speakers emphasise the boominess of some zoom meeting contributions even with bass (on the bass speaker) turned down fully.
I don't listen to music on the PC and we are both losing the top of of our hearing range and use subtitles on TV to help.
Can anyone recommend speakers which are either meant for speech or can be adjusted to be good for it without needing alterations to the computer itself (beyond plugging in either to audio or usb or both if necessary. Could use separate mains power). Modest cost please; I see some on Amazon for £30-40 but I prefer independent or chain retailers.
