MP4 from Sony vegas

Post by Peter Copestake »

Before you say this has been asked by me before in 2018 which I had completely forgotten about it's not quite the same.
I want an mp4 file from a DVCAM copy of a std.8 film. On Serif I exported it as mp4 easily enough; it's one of the export options, but it takes a while and as I couldn't seem to connect Serif to the DV deck (please offer suggestions on that as well) I had put it on my trusty Premiere 6.5 and then imported into Serif.
To try other options I have also imported it to Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum v11 but can't see any way of exporting it as mp4.
Is there a way to do this, please?

Sorry! As usual I have found one answer before you've had time to reply - the firewire wasn't plugged in!
So Serif will be easier next time.
