working in 9:16 from DSLR

Post by Peter Copestake »

A colleague has a project ongoing which, because they are mostly single person interviews in and around high-ceilinged spaces, she is filming in portrait (9:16) format. Using Premiere Pro 2019 should she be able to edit them right-way-up or has she to lie down on the job??

Does she want to produce a video which is 9:16 or 16:9? Premiere will have no problem rotating the image if the latter (but she will have to decide whether to zoom in and lose definition or how she is going to fill the blank space around the 9:16 image.
If the former, just set up the sequence as 1080 x 1920 instead of 1920 x 1080 and you're good to go.

Lack of notification was because the box had got unticked - my fault as usual - and my colleague had done just what Tim said for her 9:16 project for the sponsors to chooose how to display it, possibly on monitors rotated 90 degrees!
