I took some mini DV tape in 1998 and have been asked if I could resurrect
it and put it into Edius 7 Pro but all my efforts have failed. Please help
The tape was taken on a Panasonic NV-DS-150

Re: Mini-DV into Edius Pro 7
You're playing the Mini DV tape in your deck or camcorder and they play ok? I ask because tapes recorded in the LP mode won't play back properly in a lot of DV decks.
You've got the playback machine connected to the computer via FireWire? You've been able to import DV footage onto Edius before and have forgotten how, or have you never done it?
Mimi DV footage was almost invariably shot 4:3 SD, so you'll need firstly to open Edius with project settings that match the recordings.

With the camcorder connected you click on Capture at top left of the Edius edit programme and drop down to 'Select input device'. Choose a setting such as NX SD DV PAL (not S-video or composite). To start capturing the Mini DV footage to the computer's hard drive, set the camcorder playing the tape and push F9.

I have not heard any more, Tom. He should be able to post here himself now.
