I am presently using Vegas Pro v15 with the current patch it is greatly improved and working well. It seems that Magix are providing good support. However; having been abandoned a couple of times (EditDV/Cinestream and FCP7) I like to keep my options open with a back-up. Is anyone using Black Magic Resolve 14? I am particularly interested in the minimum computer needs as this information is not very clear on the BM website or other sources.
thanks

Re: Editing software
Hi Ned,
I thought that you were abandoning Vegas after the Magix takeover and the inflated upgrade prices, then again I thought I was too! Yet last month I took the plunge and upgraded from v13 to v15 and so far it has been painless (although I've yet to use it in earnest).
I'm afraid I haven't tried Resolve v14 yet so my comments are pretty worthless. All I can say was that 12.5 ran without issue on my PC (although that was fairly powerful when I bought it 18 months ago - Intel i7-5820 (hex core) @ 4GHz, 32GB RAM, Radeon R9 390x 8GB graphics, SSD System Drive, PCIe SSD main editing drive for current projects and a couple of other mechanical drives.)

Re: Editing software
Thanks Tim; I had tried Avid Media Composer and could not get on with it. I bought Media 100 at a knock down price and could not get it to work. Which left Edius and Vegas; I had used Vegas Studio as a back up so it was no great effort to go to Vegas Pro. I cannot justify a subscription to Premiere so am sticking with Vegas as long as Magix support it. However; as in the past I kept a back-up software after my earlier experiences I still feel the need for a reserve. As Resolve 14 is free I will give it a try! By the way there is another upgrade to V15 with a lot of fixes; free this time.
