Am thinking about getting an new Ext H/Drive and the one I have in mind is WD My Passport Ultra 2TB listed as USB 3. It doesn't says that it's backward compatible with USB 2... I am assuming it is but would would someone confirm that it is please. I have USB 3 sockets on one PC but not the other.

Pete
USB 3 HDs will be read and written to by both USB 1 and 2 ports.

We have two WD portable USB drives (Passport and AV versions) and both work great with all our PCs and iMac.

A word of warning for others reading this post, external drives formatted in NTFS will be read by a Mac but not written to.
