Pinnacle Studio Plus 12 - inaccessible Projects.

Advice please.
I use Pinnacle Studio Plus 12 for editing, & a number of my saved Project Files can not be opened because they now bear a logo alongside that resembles a small black house. Also, the legend "You don't have permission to open this File. Contact the File Owner or an Administrator to obtain permission." How do I do this? I am the Administrator.
Also, many other Project Files when opened, show the File with true spacings on the Time Line, but no picture- only a "?" or "!". What can I do to get these back?Some are as recent as a year ago.
Any advice/help would be appreciated.

ps - a friend, running Studio Ultimate 15, has lost access to ALL his recently edited Projects. ALL have been made inaccessible by the "small black house" alongside.
He has done nothing to cause this. Not surprisingly, it is causing him a lot of grief.
