Video Formats

I have been awaiting with anticipation an expert's reply to Stuart Hillier's
question about converting 16.9 to 4.3. In the meantime Stuart I shall tell
you what I do - I capture standard DV from my new HD camera in 16.9 format
- edit it with Media Studio and then export it in 16.9 back to the camera.

I then in media studio put a black colour on the time line, the length of
the video, and on the first overlay line insert the avi film I have just
made. I then change the frame size of that film to 720 by 430, it automatically
puts it in the middle of the frame, then I creat a new AVI file and export
it in 4.3 format to my old Sony 900 camera. This plays on any television
but of course is letter-boxed. Perhaps this might help in the meantime.
