Film & Video Maker Magazine - Back Issues

Post by fraught »

I've been clearing out the loft, and I've come across an old pile of FVMs, dating back to early 1988 (roughly when I joined) right up to the early 2000s. I've picked out the issues of interest to me, especially the ones that I've contributed to (mostly the Page Ten Youth News section). But the rest are up for grabs. Free to whoever will cover the postage. I don't want to send out individual issues, just the lot in one hit. Let me know if you want them and we can talk. :-)

I'm sure there was someone on here a few years back hoping to replenish their stock of old FVMs. With luck they'll come across this before you sling them out.

Might be worth posting on the IAC Facebook page and getting Jan to put them on the website (low traffic, but you only need one taker)

What I would personally love to obtain is as complete a collection as possible of Movie Maker magazine. My old copies regrettably were lost in a house move around 20 years ago.

You're welcome to my 90's collection Howard. Just want them to go to a good home, before the spring clean kicks in and they end up in a recycling centre somewhere. :-)

Very kind of you Geoff but what I want is a collection of Movie Maker magazines which ran from the 1960s to the 1980s, the magazine that ran the Ten Best Competition.

I wish I'd kept the Movie Maker issues that carried my few articles in the 1980s. I think like Howard they got lost in house moves.

Howard, I did have the whole lot, uninterrupted from about 1963 up to the demise of the magazine. I think that I have somewhere issues concerning my Ten Best successes and a few articles but otherwise all slung, at my age one starts to prepare for one's own demise!

What a pity that most of us former subscribers to Movie Maker magazine disposed of them or lost them at some point.
Somebody somewhere must have a complete set and maybe they would consider selling the collection. I’d love to read again all those Ivan Watson columns… and everything else. My first edition was from 1967 with a schoolgirl on the cover. It got me interested in the amateur film movement but it wasn’t until 1970 that I acquired a projector and cine camera.
