Radio 4 The Wedding Detectives Episode 2 is about George Sewell. An amateur film maker. He was a founder member of the IAC in the 1930s.

Thanks for this post it led to a trip around the net and this interesting connection; one of the three shorts is by George Sewell. The visit also turned up a PhD thesis on Scottish Amateur film.

I enjoyed the radio program and the film at the EA collection.

Thanks

I well remember George Sewell, he WAS the IAC in the 50s and 60s. He came to the old Edgware Cine Society to talk to us one evening. When they wanted a bronze bust of him some years later for a trophy I think, my wife, who was a sculptor, was asked to make it. It must be around somewhere I imagine. He was a somewhat irascible character if my memory serves me correctly.

I really hope it is is, Michael. Not just a memory for the IAC but so important for you.
