Film Music

I caught the final half hour of a 3 part documentary about the history of music for cinema last night and I've just taken a break from editing to watch the first half hour of the series on catch-up. It's one of those documentary series that BBC 4 does very well - accessible to all but not too dumbed down. I can thoroughly recommend it for anyone even vaguely interested in the subject - and who, reading these forums, wouldn't be? It's from 2013 but I'm not sure a lot has changed since ;)

It's available on iPlayer for a couple more weeks but I see it's also up on YouTube.

Also of interest is the upcoming BBC4 series "Mark Kermode's Secrets of Cinema" https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0bbn5pt a five part series beginning on 17th July which promises to "[reveal] the film-making tricks and techniques behind classic movie genres, from romcoms to horrors"

Thanks, Tim. Just coming to the end of our re-run of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA so need something to watch as an escape from football and tennis!

I've seen that series on the history of music for Cinema Tim and I agree that it is excellent. I'd already spotted Mark Kermode's new series so that is definitely on my "must watch" list
