Can anyone recommend someone or some source for a short piece of 60s dance band music to use as background/atmosphere to a piece of film without live sound.
The band on the film had five or six players, keyboard, doublebass, trombone and percussion but itself is shown for only two brief shots so sync wouldn't really need to be precise and the individual shots of dancers don't last long either. I've been told it is quickstep but I'm not going to sync that either.
Id be quite happy with something off an LP or even 78 if it can't be played live.

Problem solved! Local Jazz band's web page has downloadable examples of their work.
A musician will spot the difference but it's only there for atmosphere.
Interested people may like to try Pendle Jazzmen.

I presume you've obtained their permission? I'm sure they'd be more than happy for their music to appear on your video.

Hoping to talk on phone, Tim but they are local and we'll get to speak sometime, I'm sure.
