Mike Whymen

Post by Graeme Spurr »

After reading through a lot of the 80s and 90s editions of Movie Maker and Making Better Movies, I notice in John Wright's 'Club Commentary' that Mike Whyman, a JVC representative, is mentioned frequently. He visits quite a few cine-clubs throughout the country, introducing and discussing video equipment. I'd really like to speak to him about my research project and my own personal interest in amateur cinematography. Does anyone have contact details for him or have any memories of his club visits during the 80s and 90s? He seems to have visited quite a few IAC clubs. I would be most grateful for any help!

Would anyone with the relevant information please use the PM (private mail) system to tell Graeme, in case Mike does not want his details made available to the world.

I believe he has long retired from JVC but his steadfast support of our movement demonstrates that he was never just using IAC as a marketing tool for the company. His interest has always been genuine and benevolent.
