There is a very easy answer to avoiding being chased up by the likes of Facebook if it turns out not to be for you.

With your ISP provider you have the option for multiple e-mail accounts, just create one specifically for use on such sites, that way any e-mail will go to that address and can be ignored.

Good tip Col... infact i do this for most things. I have a Hotmail account that i never go to, that i use for creating accounts. Stops my real inbox from filling up with crap! :-)

If you want to go that route there is a simpler option and it can be used by people whose Internet provider does not allow many email addresses.

Visit http://meltmail.com/ where you can create a working email address that will vanish after 3 hours or 24 hours as you choose.
