Re: I am killing my babies

Reading Willy's report about Wensleydale gives me that 'Oh! to be in England ' feeling again. Damp glasses and soup of the day. Have you included something about Wallis and Grommit in your film? Filming yesterday for five hours in the hot sun of Lyon, gives me that want for the cool green grass of h...

Re: The Comedy Thread

Here's another one Billy. There is a French snack called 'croque-monsiuer'. It is like Welsh Rarebit and in English it is more usually known as cheese on toast. There was a report on a English news service this morning, telling that in Bolougne, gendarmes had cleared the beach of bathers yesterday, ...

Re: The Comedy Thread

A cartoon seen in a French Magazine. Its speech bubble in English and it captioned below in French. The scene: A man is putting his shirt back on after a medical examination. The doctor is shaking his head and tells him: 'Bad news! – You are as sound as a Euro!' The joke is lost in translation and t...

Re: GRAPHICS CARD DRIVER

Hi David, Thanks for that. I will give it a try as I am no further forward with a resolution. We are off to visit the UK for a couple of weeks, so my computer will have to sit at home here and suffer. Hope the sun is still shining while we are over there. The temperature here in Lyon, is reckoned to...

Re: LIGHTING

That is an exciting clip of film. It really proves that all this is 'do-able', even with the application of a simple bit of kit of lighting. I say simple, with the exception of the camera! I liked the wall papering at the start, but why not? - And the music. Having had many years of experience with ...

Re: GRAPHICS CARD DRIVER update

A belated thanks and a reply to David's reply to my on going Graphic Card problem. The computer is new or new as of January, when I bought it. I bought it on the basis that it was right for the use I needed it. If it needs a better graphics card, what should it be? It is an off the shelf computer, b...

Re: GRAPHICS CARD DRIVER

Thanks for the reply. It is appreciated. However, I have checked here and updated the driver. Although it reports the driver up to date. I have also re-installed it but the problem still persists. - Pqtrick

Re: GRAPHICS CARD DRIVER

Thanks for the reply. I beleived that I already had downloaded Direct X or had an application which told me that it was required. However, I down loaded it again. The problem is that it is no better and the screen just locks momentarily, goes black and recovers with a very kind message that it had n...

GRAPHICS CARD DRIVER

I am blighted by a problem with the graphics card or driver I have on my computer. The computer is only months old and out of a box. I am continually getting this error message (en Francais) and it is somewhat making me get even more frustrated that I am with my computer.. '0x117 Nvidia time-out dri...

Re: Edius and Audio?

Thanks to Tom and Col Lamb. Yes, I had found the settings tab you referred and the box is unchecked (Settings > Hardware Settings > Generic OHCI > System Output Settings). The box is unchecked. Looking at the programme, the right hand screen (record) the audio bars register to presence of sound, but...

Edius and Audio?

Edius Audio? Are there any Edius users out there.? In an earlier post, I mentioned that I was using a trial version of Edius Neo and have about ten days left before I decide to continue with it. So far so good. It is a very good and intuitive programme especially for users who have had experience wi...

Re: Edius Neo?

Thanks Dave - interesting! How did my post get into this section, is it just one of those basic questions? I have found that doing web searches out of the UK on Google or whatever, does not get you to what you want. Especially when wanting to download English menu versions of software. It took four ...

Edius Neo?

Edius Neo – I am currently working through a trial of this software. I have about twenty days left. I have also seriously considered Magix, having had a licensed version 10, some years ago. What I like about Edius, are the two screens for editing i.e. 'clip' and 'preview' whereas Magix has only one ...

Re: USB EXTERAL HARD DRIVE !!!

It looks as if Brian Saberton's comment was right on the nail!
I tested my external drive at my club last night with another cable it worked OK.
I now have a replacement USB cable and it now functions so far OK.
Thanks :D

Re: USB EXTERAL HARD DRIVE !!!

Thanks folks! I have tried almost all of these solutions but to no avail! I do not have the know how, how to connect it direct to the motherboard? (If I could, it would have to be my old computer – and I don't know anything of the benefit of this). Currently, I have tried to connect it again to my o...
