Re: Judges critiques - a criticism!

Thank you for the kind words about my film 'Commitment' Willy! Its great to hear about it being screened (and enjoyed!) around the world. I was truly thrilled that it won the top prize at the AMPS festival. I wanted to get my new film 'Dancer' (www.dancerfilm.com) ready for the BIAFF this year but u...

Re: A Professional Piece that showed us something

Loved that film. He has directed some awesome movies in the last few years. His WW2 double bill "Flags of Our Fathers" and "Letters from Iwo Jima" showing different sides of the same battle are both excellent.

Re: AMPS Awards/notes

Ned - Received the notes and awards this morning. A big thank you to the AMPS for the kind word about my work! Really chuffed!

Michael - I appear to have the notes for your film 'To the Gods' in my package. If required I can send them to you.

Snow again is stopping us from filming! Basingstoke is just a snow-go area! The weather is really hampering the making of this film! :(
I can completely relate to what your saying! I'm meant to be filming on Saturday. Fingers crossed!

Film Trailer

Hey all, Hope you all had a good Christmas! Just thought I would share the trailer to my new short film 'Dancer.' Have been working on this for ages and it has become a huge, huge project (much more work than my last film 'Commitment' which some of you may have seen at BIAFF last year). Its great to...

Re: A New AppleMac or a PC?

I took a chance on a MAC a few years ago and haven't looked back since. Final Cut studio is such a terrific all round package (pricey though). I don't think I could ever go back now to PC editing. Many of my friends have also made the jump and been pleased with the results. You are certainly right a...

Re: Police info for filming in public

The media has done a lot of damage. Anyone filming in public is eyed as doing something seedy. I while back I triggered an armed police response. I had been filming in an enclosed backgarden when a neighbour must have peered through the fence. Quite unbelievably they those that my camera was a gun. ...

Re: Police info for filming in public

Thanks for posting this useful information. I have had one or two dealings with police whilst on shoots over the years. Even with written permission from the council they have got in the way before so its good to know my rights.

Re: BIAFF 2009

I find it really hard watching my own films with an audience. I alway see things that I should have done differently. In short I am my own worst critic! The part I enjoy the most is hearing people thoughts on the piece after the film has finished. I had a very interesting chat with a gentleman who w...

Re: BIAFF 2009

Just wanted to say as a first timer to the Biaff how much I enjoyed myself. It was great to finally meet Dave Watterson and several others who were keen to discuss my film Commitment including Rex's director Berry Van Der Vorst who sat in front of me. It would have been nice to have been there on Sa...

Re: Finding Actors

Hi Dave, A website I have used on my last 2 films could be of a great help: http://www.talentcircle.org It is full of actors looking to build their show reels, who are willing to work for no fee. For one role I had about 50 CV's emailed to me! You may have to give them a few pounds for bus fare thou...
