Re: Judges and their credibility

:? Are you discussing Judges or Judges comments apart from video/film genre? Tom writes about the manner in which Rushdie was treated... Dave then condenses this to "Death Star" After making some valid points for consideration as does Ned. Willy then states that the days of the "Trave...

MIN DV TAPE / STOREAGE

Hi All, Not having been a registered member of these Forums until quite recently I have been browsing and I have noted comments on the subject of miniDV tapes and video storeage Posted around last May: I did have an article published in FVM a little while ago: With regard to miniDV tapes etc. etc.(o...

Re: THE NAME OF OUR ORGANISATION

 Hi Dave, Sir: : Corrected again hey, past time I retired from the fray! To answer your question: My last "slave" died of overwork and underpayment - 'they' said he "woyn't a pero-fesshunal"! 8) : Hi Brian: Dunno about Mr. Jeung but "golf" other than it appears to...

Re: THE NAME OF OUR ORGANISATION

:? Many thanks Dave for your response. Forgot of course that some folks hide behind a misnomer. Me, I'm ME as you er -- know! Anyway, I still can't recognise the others to whom you refer! Obviously the fault then is mine. Would it be an impertinence to request that you respond by giving the names of...

Re: DV mini Disc cassette storage

Hi Roy, This is a bit late perhaps if so my apologies: I purchased several stackable units to store miniDV tapes, in their boxes, from Maplins a while ago. The little drawers are spring loaded and open at the touch of a button. However, I don't know right now if they still have them available. Lee.

Re: THE NAME OF OUR ORGANISATION

Fascinating by the day this subject of changing the whole of the meaning of IAC! Folks, that title, with all its past respect is quite outdated. Surely it must be changed even if the I the A and the C remain. The "A" no longer applies in virtually every scenario for starters. Ned's comment...

Re: THE NAME OF OUR ORGANISATION

Hi Dave, Ned and All, IF you just ponder what I've written above in my last Post you could perhaps string a new title from some of the verbiage thus keeping the full I A C initials. The word "cinemaTOGraphers" it seems is outdated and not understood by Mr. "Joe Bloggs" & co: ...

Re: THE NAME OF OUR ORGANISATION

I quite understand what Col is referring to but I do very much like what Ian is “saying”. As for Dave’s comments, I also more than understand the “sighs”, (or should it be gasps), of the anciently entrenched....! Personally I am of the opinion that that is where much of the criticism of the IAC , (i...

THE NAME OF OUR ORGANISATION

Hi Ian, I would add that I too am concerned with the entire title of the IAC - re your comment about the "cinematographers" bit. But the rap I got about even considering the subject of changing the "A" for "Amateur" in the title tended to confirm for me that any suggest...

Re: Judges and their credibility

Judges: Now I must be very careful, very - (mustn't I Dave)?! I have read with much interest the Postings on this page / subject. Much of what is written is so obviously quite true and in depth BUT - amazingly - what I find odd and always have done is that whilst what is written here is fine it neve...

Re: Do we need a new editor for FVM?

Re: DAVE’S “POLITICS & BACK STABBING” – IAC! From memory I think I’ve remarked on this to you Dave previously...here it is again for general consumption: In Liz Donlan’s time as FVM Editor she published a letter of mine very similar to that written by Mr. Philip Bridges about the standard and ty...

THE NAME OF OUR ORGANISATION

Hi Ian, first welcome to "the club"!!! I for one hope that you find it useful. My view is that the IAC could and should get out of its Insularity, reorganise and widen, very much, its horizons! This would take complete new commitment, energy and a WILL to do so. This means that the somewha...

Re: Do we need a new editor for FVM?

TOM:-- Replies from "On High" --- Ha Ha! I have been in (and out) and in of the IAC to know distinctly that when the boaaat is a rockin' there never is, never was, a reply of any sort from "On High"! As I have already said and more than once in the past, if there's one thing that...

Re: Do we need a new editor for FVM?

Response to the points in Dave's latest posting: Well Dave, my friend, as usual no doubt we'll agree to disagree! Very healthy. Don't agree that editing a 'zine et al is the same at as editing our own videos. This is the difference. Our videos are ours to edit - as we please. Material written for th...
