Re: MIN DV TAPE / STOREAGE

8) Hi Alls, Bit late in "coming back"...just got home and on the way I breezed into Carousel re these Gold Archiving Discs. They only had seven left at this time! The ones were not "printable" but had the more common shiny surfaces...Hey their current price is £1.27 each plus the...

Re: POSITIVE IDEAS FOR 'Film & Video Maker' ARTICLES

 NBTE: = Not Before Time Either - Garth. Your Posting certainly straightens out some fairly widely held misconceptions: There are, or were, quite a number of people / members who thought / think that you head up a jolly old staff Garth!!! It was the same when I was "doing" the Adverti...

Re: THE IAC AS A REGISTERED CHARITY

Brian: Thank you for that information. I am fully aware of the Gift Aid aspect for charities but didn't of course connect that availability to what I know as "Tax Avoidance"! This latter is a different matter entirely. Tax Avoidance should be stamped on hard, we read / hear enough about ta...

Re: THE IAC AS A REGISTERED CHARITY

 Geoff and Mike: Interesting. Ta! Thank you: Danke, Merci, Gracias! - For the explanation. However in respect of the IAC charity-wise, where no financial aid or free support is provided, I can only then assume that it's a method of Tax Avoidance. I wonder now how long it will be before the cur...

THE IAC AS A REGISTERED CHARITY

:? Can or will someone explain to me how come the IAC is a REGISTERED CHARITY ??? As far as I know or can realise the IAC does absolutely nothing charity-wise! Why is it accorded this "facility"? To me a "charity" is a body / organisation which, as a charitable institution, gives...

Re: POSITIVE IDEAS FOR 'Film & Video Maker' ARTICLES

 Now Dave W has started in on in something positive. Willy V D L has come up with several ideas for items in FVM which I think are very good. (Why so Willy? - 'cos that, the ideas, show in your films)! Of course all are not as adept at coming up with ideas but here again if this / these sugges...

Re: Do we need a new editor for FVM?

8) ARTICLES: Ohhh yeah it's me agin! Re Mike's suggestion about obtaining articles from Professional Film Makers / Editors (of note).... good idea BUT who is gonna run around obtaining such? I know that Garth does not have the time - he has to earn a crust or three. Wouldn't it be very nice if he he...

Re: Do we need a new editor for FVM?

8) FVM: Every page "open" to colour would be great but colour = costs in that Printer's charges for "full colour" as it's described is, without doubt, costly or so I understand re FVM and that's been my experience very much so in other directions. i.e. I once broached the subject...

Re: Do we need a new editor for FVM?

:D :)

Er sorry Garth -- if I "jumped the gun", my apologies but I must've missed that you hadn't "Posted" the News! - Reasons are I guess that commonsense prevailed and the excitement of a correct "realisation" at last.

Best wishes.................Lee.

Re: FVM EDITOR

:) FVM EDITOR FURTHER: Considering the size of the membership of the IAC, that is from us, the "proletariat", surely there must be many people who could write and subscribe varied articles on a sort of "one off" basis - now and again. Don't forget Garth the Editor needs articles ...
