Re: Who?
And the Ten Best winners not only had a showing at the BFI cinema but they were copied onto 16mm and clubs could hire them. In this way the Best was seen all over the country. I wonder where those copies are now, if they still exist? Maybe Talking Picture TV would like to show them? After all they a...

Re: Playscore2
Here is an edited version of Brahms Hungarian dance No7 to be used in an animated dance film, "Pin up," to illustrate the piano in Playscore2. Unless I found a good pianist or paid for one to perform (£100 plus) I could never have this music without Playscore2. https://soundcloud.com/alber...

Re: A Bunch of Amateurs
Soon films will make themselves. No need for film makers anymore.
No need for an audience either as they will be replaced by robots.
No need for the human race then, much too antiquated, wearing
out within years, not lasting forever as I will

Unbelievable professional error
Once again I have just finished watching 'Oliver Twist' that great classic directed by David Lean, with Alec Guinness among a host of brilliant actors. Great script, direction etc as one would expect. Difficult to fault in any way. YET, right at the very end, the credits are shown against a picture ...

Re: A Bunch of Amateurs
Gosh Michael, what wonderful things you say about me. I couldn't have put it better myself :-) :-) You too, have trod the 10 best boards as well it should be known. After nigh 40 years of a break from film making I'm back at it before I kick the bucket.... ...an animated bucket of course :-) As you ...

Re: A Bunch of Amateurs
I've never made films to appeal to either judges or an audience.
Made because they appeal to me!
How can anyone sit down and think,
"Now what film can I make that will appeal to Tom. Dick or Harry?"

Re: A Bunch of Amateurs
AS you all know, many professional films have enormously long credits at the end rolling on continuously, name after name. Carpenters, best boys (however they are !), grips, foley artists, directors assistants, continuity, music director, etc etc. With a science fiction/animation film the etc etc go...

Re: Playscore2
Tim, I did say 'Classical music' which by normal definition is all well over 70 years old. I mentioned Brahms music as an example.....he died in 1897 Piano is only available in the free version. For £15/year string and woodwind for example, are available. One can just pay a one off payment and then ...

Re: Playscore2
Of over 1000 hits on this thread so far has anyone tried using Plascore2 ?
Perhaps we could all share our \experineces on all its many possible manipulations
of music.
I've upgraded to the professional version giving me full orchestral score reading.

Playscore2
Getting good copyright free music is now possible due to the above. Some might be familiar with this wonder app. There are apps on the web where one can scan with their scanner, a music score and have it played back through the PC. Playscore2 takes this a step further. One only has to photograph a p...

Re: 50 plus year old film !
Dave, I was alluding to that actually, the many festivals that I see, do seem to favour controversy, conflict, sexual orientation etc etc. ............ I don't know how you think about your older films, Michael, but my films made over 50 years ago would never get a good reception now. " Childi...

Re: 50 plus year old film !
50 years ago people were more sensitive than the brash, fast life of today.
Film and all art forms will reflect that.
I shudder to imagine what life and film will be like in 50 years time.

Re: Filming with an iphone
Not forgetting animation on an iphone too.....single shots, of course. Make a square grid matrix, transparent numbered screen to cover iphones capture area.. Objects can thus be animated frame by frame using the screen's grid to register correct and smooth movement. If it's an old phone glue a block...
