The first thing I do is, (Altogether Now.....) WHERE`S THE MANUEL OVER-RIDE BUTTON! How many of really us do that though. And what settings do you insist on putting into manual? Re the camcorder features I wanted: 1) Low light ability that was an improvement on my already decent Canon XM-1....

I've done a range of shots from motorbikes before I ever went to a film club. I remember showing my movie to a motorcycle training club. The credits were about a minute long for a 5 minute movie. But they were in-camera strobed footage from a motorcycle tank going through banked turns, followed by a...

I forgot to mention about the copyright bit. We use music to enhance our films. If our 'mood' films had no music, would they still win things, or even be as good? Maybe not? Well then, somebody should get something small for giving their bit of creativity to boost our creativity. If you make a heap ...

I don`t like to re-edit posts that have already been sent. I think it`s a bit of a lie to post something and then retract it like nothing has happened! We all have moments where our mouths (or finger[s]) go into gear before our heads. If you later, upon reflection (and after a few angry PMs) realis...

Re: Fantastic Wedding and Video Editing Etc

Dear All, I have just bought my wife a USB2 External Dual Layer DVD burner. This is what she thought of that  I remember getting my wife a deep fat fryer for Christmas. That was what the solicitor quoted in the divorce petiton. I make the odd wedding video, they usually turn out to about 50 m...

We're a body of people who keep every kind of recording gear since 1927. You must know somebody with two Svcr's. Or you could get your friend to pay a for a duplication.

But this could be the spur you need- make a new version- nice and long

I've got a Sony VX2100 that has 2 ND filters. I use it when the camera decides I need to use it, and also to get the iris wide open so I can do cool focus pulls.

when we want music why not make it ourselves, or more realistically approach musicians and ask for their help? I can't make my own music, (you can ask the wife- though she'd rather have my guitar than my singing) and don't really have the time or inclination to do so. I'm quite happy to make good u...

We haven't had a flooding problem up here in North West Durham - Consett is about 600 feet above sea level, and it's at the top a big hill. But if we did, my film would be called " Let's go Sailing " And with my music copyright licence, I'm quite pulled to that Rod Stewart number... what's...

Re: Is the Mac Really Safer Then a PC

Parallels Desktop for Mac enables you to run Windows, Linux, and more side-by-side with Mac OS X seamlesly on any Intel-powered Mac, without rebooting. therefore allowing one to run any windows software (it does beg the question why you would want to). Its all a matter of choice I made my choice fo...

It's true I didn't enter a film, and the reason for that is that I can't go to fesivals like that, so I don't know them, and also I don't have the confidence that my little old stabs at movies stand a hope in hell's chance against our top people. But I did enter Biaff for the first time last year, a...

Hey Brian- I contacted your friend re the projector lip synch issue- and I eventually got a Panasonic PT-AX100. It's a superb bit of kit, with no such gremlins.

Couldn't be happier. Cheers.

In response to Stingman's call for action I've emailed my film-making contacts and mentioned the presence of this board.

If a few of us from around the UK do the same, this site will be jammed with ideas, banter and gossip.
