Re: Judges reports
The work that judges do is invaluable in promoting our hobby. Judges in this area of the UK (the North East of England) are pretty cool ! They are very positive and enthusiastic without being condescending. As a competition secretary it is difficult sometimes to get judges (!) where have I heard tha...

Re: Interlude Films
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder ... yes? anyone that puts together pictures whether they be single frame, 25fps or 30ps(for ned c  ) will get my vote! I just love watching other peeps work, especially that that may not convey any form of message, plot, story or construction, except that t...

HD at BIAFF 2010
The BIAFF 2010 Competition Rules state that only Blue Ray Discs are being accepted for HD entries.
Am I missing something here?
Does this mean that HD entries on DVtape or standard DVD will not be accepted?

Re: BRAVO gILL bATES
this continual update malarky can certainly spoil the positives in the PC world  its something that has been the norm for the last few years and unfortunately while we have the microsh@te monopoly it will not change.... ... but all is not lost... a couple of years down the line we need not wo...

Re: Should we circulate judges' comments?
Think this a great idea! Having done a spell of judging in the past, and as you say Dave I may make comments to a film maker that I would not want in the public domain would need some thought before publication. It would be great to see a selection of BIAFF films on this website with the judges comm...

Re: FVM latest Issue - amateur
I agree entirely with you on this one ned... When speaking to potential members (especially younger peeps) they do seem to wince when you mention the word amateur. It does have a certain stigma attached to it. This should not be taken as negative blow to all the fantastic work done by the likes of t...

a burning issue with some peeps Dave !!!! with the advent of convergeance upon us its only a matter of time when the likes of the main camera manufacturers produce the all singing all dancing stills/video camera combination (Canon Mk2 5D is a pretty good example of the quality obtainable even now ie...

Re: Projector Screens (again!)
Roy. I think you may have touched on something that has most certainly been lost over the years. I am far too young to remember the hey day of cinema days (ahem!) but do remember the atmosphere in the early 60's (as a boy) going to the saturday club at the ABC Ritz Gateshead or to see a big f...
