Re: MPEG4 playing on Apple
Thanks for that reply Michael. This pre set 'designated QT.mov' you mention? Is this a prog to enable MPEG4 to play on his Quick Time Player? Are you are saying that for Quick Time to play these files they have to be converted to .mov?
Thanks again for replying. Pete.

MPEG4 playing on Apple
I had a DVD sent to me with several MPEG4 video clips that I could easily play on my PC. However, on taking this disc to a friend with a fairly new Apply desktop, he was unable to play them. I know nothing about these machines and he knows even less. Is there something he should know to be able to p...

Re: Audio on playback on You Tube.
Further to this thread. I would like to mention that John has given me so much help and advice through several PMs and has really solved the problem for me. I could never have done it without his knowledge and my thanks to him.
Cheers. Pete.

Re: Exporting from CS6 to V tape
Thanks for your reply Col. I will follow up on this for future ref. but have managed to get around it by exporting the file and then putting it into an old prog of Pinnacle Studio 12 and from there to tape.
Thanks again. Pete.
Thanks again. Pete.

Audio on playback on You Tube.
I made a video with two mics plugged into camera. One Radio mic on to camera audio track one and the other mic onto camera audio track 2. At a couple of stages the RM was off and recording was made on mic 2 only. No problems. The footage was imported into Prem CS6 with the audio on two separate trac...

Exporting from CS6 to V tape
A colleague brought me a mini DV tape to edit and export back to another DV tape. I haven’t used tape for a long while and even longer since I exported out to tape. His project has been edited in Prem CS6 - but the problem is that on exporting to tape we get no audio. The picture is fine. We've trie...

Internet access problem
I have an Acer Laptop on Win 8.1 and use Chrome. It’s not used for video but just for getting Catch-up TV when in bed. For the past couple of days I have been unable to get full web access. I can receive e-mails and on the desktop I have an icon for MSN NEWS and that works OK. So I know the machine ...

Re: DSLR advice
Thanks for your further input Col and I will swat up on those models. However, the young lady's father (my friend) has been rushed into hospital with a serious illness and I very much doubt if she will be concerned about cameras and video at the moment. I certainly don't want to pester her. We will ...

Re: DSLR advice
Thanks again Tom, I can see we are on the same wavelength in this. No, she has no desire to be a film maker – just to make these particular videos that are of her specialist interest it just that she feels, rightly, that her existing Pan TZ55 is not quite up to it as there appears to be no manual co...

Re: DSLR advice
Thank you John for your input to the discussion. I have been looking at all the models mentioned and can see that there is some great gear around. However there is something I haven't discovered as yet. I have no idea how much the young lady is able to spend on a new camera. She does know that it ca...

Re: DSLR advice
Thanks Tom, You have got it in one. All the things you say plus exposure and white balance control because all her existing footage has exposure and colour balance problem. However, she is now getting to grips with her Apple laptop and imovie with its picture adjustment features.
Cheers. Pete.
