Re: Edius and the Edius forum

I, as Col will know am an Edius Neo user and still experiencing a simple problem. I must admit that help desk which is in Germany is prompt in replying trying to resolve my issue. But so far no go. Basically, I cannot 'print to tape' as I want to output to my camcorder. When I try this, I get an err...

Re: Research Query

1980's Cine Video War? I joined my Midlands club in that era. I had already made a couple of documentaries on super8 and I was introduced to the club by a member. While I have always been interested in the progress of technology, I could not see at that time, how movie making clubs would be anything...

Re: What do you think about over-acting?

An interesting point, Willy makes. Overacting? Many critics point the finger straight away once it is apparent that we, 'non-professional film makers' meaning 'amateur' have no alternative other than to use amateur theatre actors. This is basically that we have no means or contacts to recruit any ot...

The camera that changed the world

It was interesting to see on BBC4 last night the repeated programme 'The cameras that changed the world'. For those who did not see it, the documentary told the story of the development of the hand held camera in the late fifties until one was adapted for use in 1960. Remember, that at the time film...

NVIDA Graphics Card

Looking back over the forum I was trying to find the thread about my long suffering problem about my graphics card. But firstly I'll go back to Col Lamb's reply about above the Canon 550D. Looks great, I can dream 'til the boat comes in.......I have however, had the opportunity of downloading Edius ...

Re: Canon 7D etc!

I have been following your comments about these cameras with interest. This is both in the magazine and on these forum pages. Perhaps if (if!) I could move to HD, I think I could convince myself and (she's not looking at the moment) that this is a viable option. For stills, we use a Panasonic Lumix ...

Re: SUPER EIGHT TRANSFER TO DV TAPE ?

Thanks Tom, I remember now that I saw your name somewhere. Most of my info is still in boxes. We moved a few months ago back to the UK, so I don't have every thing to hand. I'll try and send you a P.M. shortly with the details and my email etc. I note I still have my location here as Villeurbanne, F...

SUPER EIGHT TRANSFER TO DV TAPE ?

I seem to remember that there was someone on the forum who did film transfers from super eight to DV Tape. There is a particular film of around 400 feet, which I would like to have transfered, which I made in cica 1978, When? Am I that old? No, I was very young at the time! Anyone any idea who it is...

Re: volume adjustment in Adobe premiere pro 2

I added a tip above about adjusting the volume of audio on the timeline in Premier CS3. Now I have a query which I cannot work out even having reading the explanation in Help. I thought you could find a 'Pan' audio the same as you could 'volume' and adjust it in the same way. Not at the same time bu...

Re: H2 ZOOM DIGITAL RECORDER

Following my comment. The H2 zoom is very good and excellent to use to record V.O.'s for films. I did not purchase mine as I have said, Amazon is abot the best place to look. I would only say again, it is a bit - a bit fiddly, to use and you need nimble fingers, and do not do what I do, is to read t...

Re: H2 ZOOM DIGITAL RECORDER

I am not a 'Technie' and I use my H2 zoom just for the fun of it. OK! I have only had it for a couple of months and I have not fully mastered no more that its basic functions. It works well, and the sound to me is excellent but some of its foibles I find a little fiddly. For out-door recording these...

Re: 3D HD TV

I just cannot agree! We saw 'Alice in Wonderland' here in a cinema a little time ago. I thought the illusion was more than convincing. The picture were crisp and clear. Butterflies were floating about in the cinema, everything had a three dimensional effect to it. In fact we do see in 3D with our ow...

Re: 3D HD TV

For me a 3D TV is out of bounds because of the cost. Perhaps they will come down to £250 in the future! However, my only experience with 3D was at the cinema in recent times. I wear specs, although the lenses are quite small, the ones we had to buy in the cinema fitted perfectly over my own 'glasses...
