Re: Projectors & Pacemakers
Don't forget Mike . . . Let me know when they replace your Pacemaker battery so that I know what to expect.

Re: Projectors & Pacemakers
I had a Pacemaker fitted about 6 years ago and received most of the warnings. However, most had to be disregarded as life could not have carried on otherwise. (My arms are not long enough to operate the microwave oven . . .) So at age 83 I reckon it's all worth the risk and my doctors are very pleas...

Re: Long recordings onto DVD
Hi Peter. I really must apologise for not acknowledging you posting until now. I see it was posted on January 27th and it was only last evening (Feb.11th) that I got the automated email advising that there had been a new posting. Don't know what happened there. As it was some ago I started the threa...

FUNNY OLD WORLD
This morning I sent myself an email only to have it bounce as my email address doesn't seem to exist. Yes, it sure is a funny old world. Pete

YT url query
For years now I’ve been making videos, posting them on YT (Unlisted) and sending the links for interested parties. Never once had any problem. Yesterday I did similar and posted the link to three others and whilst two opened the link with no problem, the third was unable to open it. He emailed “When...

Re: Mysterious hum in latest voice over
Thanks John. I looked and listened to your YT clip and the hum was really clear and then disappeared . . . Wow all this technical gen. Phew. I have solved the problem by recording the VO again with the camera/mic in another room away from all my editing gear. Put the new video version on YT and let ...

Re: Mysterious hum in latest voice over
Thank you Roy, as you say very odd,but see Tims technical answer. Thank you Tim for you great technical answer and for going to all that trouble. I understand some of what you write but certainly not all. Re ( Earth loops were often a problem with band equipment, for example) I understand this as wa...

Mysterious hum in latest voice over
When making my voice overs I always do it the same way. I use my Sennheiser ME66 mic into the Sony HXR-NX3 camera. Results always please me but I’m no audio expert. When making videos for You Tube, I always send the link to a colleague for proof viewing/listening. Yesterday he phoned to say that my ...

Re: Identifying SD cards
You are quite right in what you say Tim and thanks for your answer. I have in the past mentioned my colleague with his all his problems but it’s worth explaining a little more in detail. Although not as old as myself, he’s in his mid 70s I think, he’s been in film & video since a youngster. Once...

Identifying SD cards
My colleague, who keeps coming to me to assist with his editing now that he is using SD cards, raises a question. How do you good folk label and identify these rather small cards? I don't have this problem and I just have the ones in my cameras. However, he seems to have about a dozen now and, whils...

Re: Voice Overs query
Thanks Cathy for your input. I have looked at the video you mention and in that context it works very well (Nice complete video of course). However, I don't think Tim deserves to be shot down in flames for his views which are standard opinions of course. We should remember that golden rules are ther...

Re: Voice Overs query
Agreed Dave, but there's more to it than meets the eye. Not really my project, just trying to help someone and that's not what he wants. So be it.
Thanks.
Pete.
Thanks.

Re: Voice Overs query
Thanks Tim for your observations and thoughts. I understand all what you say. All the pictures are fully captioned so there is little space in the body of the programme for VO so I might just think about something at the start and the end.
Thanks again. Pete.
