Don't worry Ned, it's just the same info that's on the thurso picture house site. We are so dang busy running between filming for two features, scheduling shoots and even some archeology that's everything is happening in tiny bits. Meantime as ever, copy and paste to wordpad then print out and send ...

The Institute of Engineers is a professional body and it's name adds merit to it's standing as a recognised body of professionals. The IAC whilst run by qualified persons as a charitable company, is not here to represent any professional. For the former it would certainly not have it's membership af...

You can rest assured that nc film making will survive all be it in a different form. Perhaps what we are seeing within the field is something similar to the decline of the Studio System. The world has changed (whilst going backwards in many ways) and the nc movie field is or at least feels less in n...

Yeay! Back to basics, coz that's how low/no budget movies are made- by almost every non-pro film maker! See Youtube for the good, bad and the indifferent. :D Just thought I'd add this here wot I put on another thread as I think it might be worth reading, or maybe you disagree! :D You can rest assure...

Crucial thing we have to note here after all the time this thread has been going is that no young person (under 35) has respond to it. We have only the views of I*C membership which in old money is the middle-aged to retired bracket! How about simply National Film Association (hmm, pondering alterna...

You did question our practices flatly refuting the advice given stating that it was completely wrong. The advice given for Julie films was fine because it is suitable for domestic film storage.
This has gotten tedious now.

Blue, you argued like this in a previous thread. We are not interested in you cause to be absolutely right. Our statements are true. We've been in the business for 25 years and after this long we are still open to differing views and even the possability of being wrong. However in view of the fact t...

Our only experience (in the last week)... was last week! I think there may be two trains of perception happening. It looks like a kind of split in the amateur film making world which is to say (and at 40 years old I'm stuck in the middle ground here) older film makers regard themselves as "amat...

Well we never suggested the stupid idea of putting films in the attic or freezer (although unused films can definately be stored there if still SEALED funnily enough). The attic is certainly a very bad place for film. Video and other magnetic media will also suffer up there and similar in the baseme...

When folk see people filming in public they don't think anything of it. It's at the point of just mentioning amateur film that people respond with the suggestion of porn. The image is still very much alive and holding us back in places throughout the UK. To start a film project we need to speak to f...

No, no no, It's a perception by many that amateur film makers produce porn. Film-Thurso has never made porn and certain their is no way we're going down that road. At no time did I say that's what you'd find if you poped amateur film into an internet search. It is a response from people when the ter...

I have to agree, the word, "amateur" is never correctly interpreted because it is most often used in derisery terms that infer a person or work to be less competant. "Professional" is equally used without full understanding of it's meaning. Amateur film makers are also tarred wit...
