Wow, sound recording to labelling!! I have the plastic racks screwed on the wall for miniDV and full size DV cassetes. I also have an old wooden rack that held audio cassetes and holds 2 miniDVs in each partition. I have a simple reference protocol, first number is the year eg 8 and then 2 or three ...

An interesting post. Future historians will have little more than passing interest in our dramas but the family films will be a mine of information. The problem now is that fewer people write letters and keep journals, the written word is fading into texting, telephone calls and e-mails which seldom...

AVCHD is now editable in a number of editing programs. Final Cut Express 4 and Final Cut Pro 6 will handle AVCHD as well as the regular CoDecs and will also handle mixed formats on the timeline. This is also true of Vegas 8 and the latest version of Vegas Platinum. I am sure the other major players ...

I wonder if the situation in the Newcastle club is representative of club experience in the UK? Obviously you all do an excellent job and I learnt from your earlier posts about some of the methods used to keep your club alive and well. Unfortunately here in the USA a number of clubs have closed thei...

Just a note that age is just numbers and does not necessarily dictate a style of film making. Of course the audience should be intrigued; baffled; amazed; lost. We are NOT making films for a financial return like the formulaic block busters Hollywood turns out, I sort of hope we are making films wit...

Real artists do art to please themselves and not an audience; there is no client just an urgent creative drive. The problem for film/video is that it is so expensive that raising money from sources other than Governments or Foundations results in an expectation of a financial or a propaganda return....
