Re: Club Insurance

I HAVE heard from the town hall. Their insurers will NOT cover us as we are 'not under their direction'.
I don't really see why a club should need higher insurance than these guys who go around filming on the move on their phones whithout looking where they are going!

Re: Curving lettering on DVD with Canon Easy photo print

Thanks, Dave, just what I was looking for and maybe had in the summer. Will do the download and try that. Have a happy Christmas and let's hope people can come together more in 2018. If we could all act together like this forum, from which I take more than I can ever give, we'd be a happier species! ...

Curving lettering on DVD with Canon Easy photo print

In the summer I printed DVDs with curved lines of print using Canon Easy photo print Ex Can I do it now? Can I Nelly! My computer lost a pile of files earlier this month which needs a better brain (at present in Tasmania!) than mine to explain, including the DVD print file so I can't play with that....

Re: Club Insurance

Sorry, Brian, I've missed responding to your post. Thanks. I am still waiting ti hear from our town council and doubt I ever will until they ask us to do something for us again, possibly November '18 remembrance.

Re: Better Film Sound

re John's PS: Yes, indeed, why not? I think that the sound system at the club is usually at a higher volume level level than I ever use at home, even with headphones, as we live in a quiet house and my wife has hyperacusis and very sensitive to bass, especially, so we never have TV or player volumes...

Re: Better Film Sound

Thanks for all comments so far which haven't mentioned the technical "fault" of sharp sound going above -6Db except for Dave saying 'depend on ears'. I'm glad of that, ina way, as I know that Dave doesn't judge films on poor quality TV speakers and he might get to see the film in question!...

Better Film Sound

In his article in FVM James Chalmers says - "Don't have music tracks running above -12Db ..." ie well below the -6Db he recommends for voice. Does this mean that music sounds louder than the same technical level of voice? It always seems to my ears that TV music is always louder than voice...

Are DVD folders a reliable way of storing DVDs? See https://www.dvdbinders.co.uk
Please don't tell me to put the films on another medium!

Re: Club Insurance

I see there has been no further chat about this subject but it has come round to that time of year again. The quote from Gallaghers this year is less than last year's but is for a policy called Tradesmen & Professionals. Seems odd as we are neither. Wouldn't invalidate our amateur status, would ...

Libec TH-650DV Tripod (Heiwa) Pan locked

We have had this tripod in use for several years. (Best one for its weight I've ever had the pleasure of using) Yesterday I took it out of the boot and found the head locked solid. I thought it doesn't have a locking screw for pan only a very small knurled knob that I had never touched and couldn't ...

Re: Voice recorders

Be careful plugging in to the church's sound system not to overload your camera. I found it hard to know whether the output was going to suit the mic or line input to the camera and would always try line first. If no option turn input level of camera down and bring it up gradually until you are gett...

Re: Adobe Premiee glitch

My input is worth very little but as a user of Prem.6.5 for the same reasons as yours, and having XP as the OS, but having the good fortune to have an experienced friend who sorts my problems I would enquire if it would be sensible to uninstall and reinstall Prem 6. When Nero played up (would only m...
