Re: Guerilla Festivals

For the most part Tim, you are spot on. They occasionally get a 'hobbyist', but most people want to move onto the next step, etc. It's really great and inspiring to watch so many talented people on their journey! :)

Re: Film look

These days, the film look is only the click of a button away. But you can't fake it that well... nothing like the real thing to be honest. I'm glad i moved on from my old Super8. Make movies is so much easier than it used to be. Rather than having a 100 things to worry about when making a movie... i...

Re: Film Trailer

I can't wait to see the film too. I had a fantastic experience the afternoon that i filmed my cameo. Was fun to watch James on set... trying to give orders without a voice! Talk about the wrong time to loose your voice! But he handled it all so well.

Bring on the screening next month! :)

Re: BIAFF 2014 Post Mortem

Cookies Awards We have had a few comments on what films people preferred. Usually the top films are so close together in overall standard that any one of them might win. The final jury took into account all the films of 5-stars level when reaching their decisions on diamonds and awards. (A few awar...

Re: BIAFF 2014 Post Mortem

I had a great time on the Saturday, was good to see some good films and meet up with some really nice people. Frustratingly, I did have issues with both the presentations of my films on the day. Karen's Room was presented in the Abbey Room, the picture quality was good yet all we could hear in this ...

Re: BIAFF 2014

I'm coming along tomorrow only i'm afraid. I wanted to come to both days, but the wife is not feeling 100% and leaving her with 3 screaming kids for a whole day was bad enough let alone 2! I'm bringing my friend Seb Hall along, who is the lovely guy who runs the Red Carpet Screenings Events. Grab hi...

Re: BIAFF 2014

On a side note.... films that win one of the Sponsor's Prizes, what is the criteria for this win? The reason i ask is that my film 'Addict' has won an 'Imagem Music Prize', yet i haven't been told why? Not complaining, as it's nice to receive something, i was just wondering what it was about my film...

Re: BIAFF 2014

I hope Patrick Duffy knows his film is being shown? As he was saying in his post that it wasn't being shown!

Re: BIAFF 2014

Really enjoying all these reviews. Certainly makes me feel better that all you wonderful people are watching it and for the most part enjoying it. :) Ned... i love your take on the film, but that was not our intention when we set out to make the film... atleast not from my part as the Director, i ca...

Re: BIAFF 2014

Hey Howard, i just watched LONELY PEOPLE too, and I also think a 1 Star is too harsh. It does show some basic skills in film making. I actually found it quite creepy in places! The sequence where the spirit takes the flowers was unexpected and eerie, also the final frame of the film shows the girl s...

Re: BIAFF 2014

Cheers guys. Really enjoying these mixed reviews. :) If we had Karen screaming from the start, i think the cat and mouse romance theme would not have worked. We couldn't get these two to fall for each other if she had started out from the moment she wakes up being scared out of her wits. We had to t...

Re: BIAFF 2014

No worries Col... the shaky cam experience isn't for everyone. As for being implausible, if you'd stuck with the film to the end you may have thought differently. The film is a rom-com, with a certain twist. :) Thanks for trying though.

Re: BIAFF 2014

I agree to a certain extent Ned... but this is a competition. There are prizes, trophies and the best films are celebrated. Take that aspect away from BIAFF and i'd happily shut up. But as long as there is a competition element to the festival (and long may it continue) you will always get upset fil...
